About

Hi! I am Anjali the founder and creator of Bakesalotlady! I’m 25 years old and I am a self-taught (still learning) home-baker. I enjoy styling the food I make and clicking pictures of it. Playing around with different cuisines, flavours, ingredients and basically everything related to food is my favourite thing to do. This blog is my way of sharing my passion with the world. I hope you enjoy the treats!

I have always loved being in the kitchen for as long as I can remember. Seeing my Nani (grandma) and my Mom create delicious meals made me try my hand at cooking and baking. A large chunk of my day is spent in the kitchen scribbling inside my diary and experimenting with flavours, baking something, tasting it, making notes again, photographing and styling. My love for photography is indescribable. It started as an annoying chore because I had to show the world all the food I was making. Somehow, along the way my camera became the love of my life. I absolutely love being around food from start to finish. Making and documenting the process, sharing that story through my lens is what I want to do all my life.

Apart from being the “Monica Geller” in my friend circle, I work full-time as a Creative Strategist and Social Media Manager at a super-cool Digital Advertising Company. I love to sing, I am a Hindustani Classical vocalist and a so-so guitarist. I went to school to study English Literature and Linguistics. Books have always been my best friends, I’m a die hard Potterhead (Ravenclaw), I adore the Game of Thrones series, Shakespeare, Haruki Murakami… the list goes on. I also have an undying love for technology and driving. Let’s just say, I am always up for learning new things and knowing people’s stories. Hit me up here if you want to have a conversation with me!
